Hotels Amsterdam are completely different than the hotels in Brussel. Amsterdam and Brussels are of the same size with a small advantage to Amsterdam.

Amsterdam is a famous city and will more easily attract tourists to the city as Brussels is more like a business centre with the European union and all that. That is why you will find more easily pure tourist hotels in Amsterdan Netherlands. Of Course hotels in Brussels Belgium are possible more expensive and more luxurious because of the easily spent money of corporations but charm is not going hand in hand with this development.

If i would personally had to choose between a weekend in Amsterdam or a Weekend in Brussels i would easily choose a hotel Amsterdam because of the richer historical sites and museums. Amsterdam has still preserved the old layout of the city and has not had the hugh change Brussels underwent the moment it became the capital of Belgium.

Many streets and original layout was destroyed to make place for modern buildings, schools, palaces and academies. In Amsterdam, all of that was integrated into the city without destroying the older historical buildings.
